A (Somewhat) New Gallery Of My Images

Screenshot Xanathons New Gallery

Since yesterday there is a new gallery with my images. Or … rather a new frontend for an old gallery. So far my images could be found at https://gallery.xanathon.com. That gallery was done using the software jAlbum. jAlbum is great if you want to quickly create nice looking image galleries, but it is somewhat dated and the sole developer seems not to be able to update it for today’s standards (at least he told me so). That is strange, since this is paid software and so it should be maintained. But when it comes to SEO or mobile support for example it is sorely lacking.

So I looked for a way to present my images in a way so search engines are able to index and find the images. I implemented a bridge and workflow that automatically mirrors the jAlbum gallery to the second gallery, but adding metadata and SEO-data.

You can find the result at https://gallery2.xanathon.com. It now has descriptions and tags for every image and it is responsive and works fine on mobile. Also it is bilingual in english and german.

Please have a look at it and tell me if you find bugs or wrong translations. Have fun!
